In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Joshua Rashaad McFadden, importing photos, smartphone fail on red skies and some free presets.
- In A Multi-Faceted Portrait of Black American Power and Pride, Miss Rosen presents the portraiture of Joshua Rashaad McFadden, an assistant professor of photography at Rochester Institute of Technology.
- Julieanne Kost covers Importing Photos Into Lightroom Classic on her new site.
- In Your Phone Wasn't Built for the Apocalypse (or sunsets for that matter), Ian Bogost explains, in part, why smartphones were unreliable witnesses to red skies this week. Autoexposure, oversaturated reds also contribute to the problem. Halide, the iOS app that provides manual control of the camera, had record downloads but donated sales to its local chapter of the Wildfire Relief Fund.
- Gavin Seim is offering Free Lightroom Presets and Capture 1 Styles Pack From Muse.
