In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Priscilla Gragg, Evelyn Dragran, new Nikon Z countdown, gimbals and two Leica SL2 bundles.

  • Heidi Volpe talks to Priscilla Gragg about The Portrait Project in which profits from the sessions go directly to purchasing children in need toys during the holidays. "To me, it is a simple thing to do, to the parents it means so much and to the children receiving the toys, I have no words!" she says.
  • In Stimulated by Simplicity, David Gualandris profiles Frankfurt-based photographer Evelyn Dragran. "Exploring domestic spaces and ordinary scenes, her ethereal photographs engage viewers in a dialog of perception and reflection," he writes.
  • Nikon has posted a countdown to The Next Chapter of its Z system, the introduction of the Z 7II and Z 6II in two weeks. You can sign up to get on the mailing list.
  • In Let's Talk About Gimbals, Kirk Tuck lists nine things he learned from using a Zhiyun Crane gimbal made for a phone.
  • Leica has announced two Leica SL2 bundles, the first time it has offered the SL2 camera with included lens options. The Prime bundle is a Leica SL2 and Summilux-SL 50mm f1.4 ($1,095 in savings) while the Vario bundle is a Leica SL2 and Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-90mm /2.8-4 ($695 in savings). Both offers are good through Nov. 30 or while supplies last.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look four years back. And please support our efforts...
