Phase One Updates Camera Platform

Phase One has released an update to its Phase One Camera Systems that enhances all IQ4 Digital Backs, the company said.

HIGHLIGHTS
Highlights of the update include:
- CFexpress storage support
- More robust WiFi functionality. Tethering and capture can now be combined with other workflow methods for security and convenience
- New workflow options to connect, shoot, transfer images, share, etc., directly via AdHoc WiFi and the future Mobile App.
- Future Mobile App. From our future mobile app, one can capture and control the camera, access live view and preview images.
- ETTR (Expose To The Right). A new, experimental feature found in the IQ4's Phase One Lab utility. Exclusive to Phase One, this new feature provides a 'one touch' tool to capture images quickly and easily changing light conditions.
AUTO EXPOSURE
The Phase One XT Camera System now includes auto exposure options that intelligently adjust Shutter Speed, Aperture or ISO to ensure a properly exposed capture.
Shutter speeds have been improved to provide seamless LS and ES options from one hour to 1/4000th of a second. In addition, the X-Shutter is supported for integration to lenses outside of the XT lens range.
NEW LENS
A new 80mm lens has also been introduced. The Schneider Kreuznach 80mm LS f2.8 Mark II Blue Ring lens features advanced optics for a brighter and more "crisp" lens, one that more perfectly exploits the power of the IQ4 sensors, including improved edge-to-edge brightness.
PRICE, AVAILABILITY
Feature Update #8 will be available on Dec. 10 at no charge to existing customers. The Mobile App will be available in early 2021, the company said.
The Schnieder Kreuznach 80mm LS f2.8 Mark II Blue Ring Lens is available immediately at a price of $5,990.

XT Camera for Landscape Photographers
The Phase One XT Camera System now includes auto exposure options -- critical for shooting under changing light scenarios. While still in full control, the photographer can rely on the camera to intelligently adjust Shutter Speed, Aperture or ISO to ensure a properly exposed capture. Shutter speeds have been improved to provide seamless LS and ES options from one hour to 1/4000th of a second. In addition, the X-Shutter is supported for integration to lenses outside of the XT lens range.
XF Camera System for Commercial Photographers
The Phase One XF Camera System was introduced in 2015 as an expandable system for professional photographers. This latest firmware update delivers dedicated workflow solutions that make it a "Swiss army knife" of cameras for which each photographic discipline can create its own ecosystem. Whether for portraiture, product, fashion or other disciplines, the latest performance fine-tuning ties all camera components together for an overall faster XF and more "robust" user experience. This improvement applies to all XF Camera Bodies, regardless of their paired Digital Back.
