In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Sarah Lee, Jehad al-Saftawi, an Anti-Black-Friday Gift Guide, iPhone camera apps and ND filters.

  • Sarah Lee has been Night Riding in London during the lockdown with her camera. "I took up cycling in early May and it has been a mental health lifesaver and something that, even when this Covid-19 period is over and the memory of how painful it has been has begun to fade, I'll look back on as a wonderful discovery," she writes.
  • Barefoot in Thorns features the work of Palestinian photojournalist Jehad al-Saftawi. He arrived in the U.S. from Gaza in 2016 and is currently seeking asylum.
  • Derrick Story published The Anti-Black-Friday Gift Guide for Photographers with an unusual selection of products.
  • Hilary Grigonis lists The Best iPhone Camera Apps. The long list seems to include all of them, actually.
  • In Twelve ND Filters Compared for Color and Sharpness, Paul Monaghan concludes, "I don't feel there's any major advantage with color, light reduction or sharpness with most of these filters." But he has his favorites.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
