In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Agency Photographer of the Year shortlist, Will Templeman, spy cameras, surreal flowers, Nikon, the Leica SL2-S and a Luminar deal.

  • The Guardian has presented its shortlist for Agency Photographer of the Year 2020 with the winner to be announced next week. The publication also reported that 42 journalists were killed this year.
  • Suzanne Sease introduces the personal portrait project of Will Templeman. "I have met so many amazing people on the streets of Richmond, Virginia, and hope to help share their stories and spread their light," he says.
  • Jonna Mendez, former chief of disguise at the CIA, discusses the spy cameras the agency used in the Cold War in this 8:36 video:
  • Jeff Maysh shows how to Shoot a Surreal Flower Scene like Dutch photographer Robert Peek, who uses a fish tank and two lights to make magic.
  • Thom Hogan lists What Nikon Hasn't Talked About after doing inventory on the Z and sDSLR systems.
  • Videographer and photographer Bernhard Spöttel gives the Leica SL2-S a test drive around Lake Fuschl in Austria.
  • The MacHeist Store is offering a 12-app bundle for $42 that includes the $79.99 Luminar 4 along with 11 other applications (including Parallels Desktop Pro). Use the code MACAPP40.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
