In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Castelgrande, Lauren Tepfer, long exposures, Peak Design Marketplace, the Sony A6600, finding studio space and a lifestyle shoot contract.

  • Stephanie Wade presents Simone Bossi's images of Castelgrande, the medieval castle built in the 13th century in the Swiss Alps and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. "Bossi's series highlights the contrasting qualities of the smooth, sharp-lined entrance to the castle against the imposing natural rock wall," she writes.
  • Teen Spirit in Suburbia explores 21-year-old Lauren Tepfer's images. "Throughout my work I explore themes of nostalgia and identity, especially in the contexts of femininity and adolescence," she says. "I've always hoped that my narratives would comfort those growing up lonely or unaccounted for."
  • Travel photographer Deborah Sandidge discusses The Surreal World of Long Exposure with a few lovely examples of her own work. "I love to demonstrate what happens over time, whether it is a fraction of a second or several minutes or more," she writes.
  • Peak Design has launched a beta of Peak Design Marketplace for used Peak Design products that transfers the lifetime guarantee to the new owner. The beta is only available in the U.S. Here's the 2:04 video:

  • Michael Johnston has wrapped up his "timely" reflections on using the Sony A6600. "Focus modes and performance alone are sufficient reason to buy a Sony camera," he writes. "Bottom line is, I don't like the Sony A6600 ... I love it."
  • David DuPu suggests Five Tips to Help You Find a Great Photo Studio. "It might seem counterintuitive, but the pandemic actually offers quite a few advantages to photographers trying to find studio space right now," he writes.
  • The Wonderful Machine's Bryan Sheffield negotiates a contract for a Lifestyle Photo/Video Shoot for a Hospitality Brand. "We included three days for a Covid compliance officer, plus a PPE budget advised by the CCO," he writes.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
