In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Sam Ferris, Dash Snow, Thom Hogan, Rob Spring and a $12 accessory.

  • In Visible Light is Sam Ferris's photography project shot on the streets of Sydney. "I look for light and shadow, colors, oddness, the uncanny, symbolism and the interplay between people and the environment they're immersed in, but perhaps not aware of," he says.
  • In The Life of Dash Snow Revealed in Intimate Photos, Ellyn Kail takes a look at the artist's exhibition of his black-and-white 35mm photographs currently on view at Morán Morán in Los Angeles. "Over the years, Dash Snow has become a myth as well as a man and perhaps in some small way, he's also become more than mortal," she writes.
  • In Strange Things Said or Written, Part XIV, Thom Hogan continues his series bringing sober analysis to the silly things people say for no reason whatsoever.
  • Rob Spring's Picture: Childhood Revisited is Mike Johnston's first piece published after the relaunch of The Online Photographer. It's also the second appreciation of his recent Baker's Dozen selection of images.
  • Scott Kelby touts An Awesome Little Photo Accessory for Just $12 Bucks. It attaches to your hot shoe and keeps your photography on the level.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look five years back. And please support our efforts...
