In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Italian churches, the Selk'nam, Ian Jackson, waves, a flash print sale, a Lightroom lesson, Dave Williams, a Lumix S Pro R70-200mm, Lynn Goldsmith and Print Your NFTs.

  • Grace Ebert peeks at Abandoned Italian Churches photographed by Roman Robroek. "At least 1,000 of the religious spaces are left unoccupied in both small towns and cities throughout Italy and stand in varying degrees of disrepair," she writes. And Robroek has visited 100 of them. for his series Chiesa (Church). Perfect places, we thought, to renew wedding vows.
  • In Clash of Civilizations, Brazilian photographer Marcio Pimenta set out to find traces of the Selk'nam ethnic group, discovering at the same time "how humankind sees itself apart from nature."
  • Cat Lachowskyj explores Ian Jackson's series In Parallel, which is a "contemporary reflection on stereoscopy, which explores the mysterious gap created when two images sit side-by-side."
  • Dahlia Ambrose collected 21 Majestic Photographs of Waves. "From wide-angle photographs to close-ups and freezing action to slowing down exposures, waves are incredible subjects that can be creatively photographed," she writes.
  • Vital Impacts and National Geographic are holding a Flash Print Sale for Ukraine Medical Aid through April 20. Proceeds will benefit the humanitarian charity Direct Relief.
  • Julieanne Kost explains The Texture, Clarity, and Dehaze Sliders in Lightroom Classic, which "can all be used to increase or decrease contrast (including edge contrast) in an image."
  • In When It Clicks, Dave Williams advises, "Take what you do seriously, but don't take yourself too seriously."
  • Roger Cicala takes apart a Lumix S Pro R70-200mm f4 OIS that needed an autofocus repair. "Panasonic doesn't offer repair really, just an exchange program," he writes. So he rolled up his sleeves.
  • Alex Greenberger reports The Supreme Court Will Hear Lawsuit Over Whether Warhol Committed Copyright Infringement. Warhol drew over copies of photographer Lynn Goldsmith's photo of Prince for his Prince Series. "Few cases related to contemporary art have ever been heard by the Supreme Court," he writes.
  • Pixels.com now allows you NFT owners to Print Your NFTs as canvas prints, T-shirts, puzzles and other print-on-demand products. Making the non-fungible fungible, apparently.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
