In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Craig Easton, Thom Hegen, Charles Daniels, Jordi Koalitic, Portrait of Humanity, Datacolor discounts and a wearable book bracelet.
- Craig Easton spent two years photographing One Small Square of Blackburn "dispelling the 'toxic fairytales' told about such areas in the media."
- The Solar Power Series by Thom Hegen "explores solar power plants in the United States, France and Spain." One hour of sunlight on the Earth, he writes, "is more than the entire world consumes in a year."
- In The Photographer With 60,000 Undeveloped Images of Rock History 'Waiting to Come Back to Life', Jim Farber tells the story of Charles Daniels. A GoFundMe campaign raised over $56,000 to develop the 1960-era 60,0000 photos Daniels never had processed. The piece includes a few of his images from that era that were desveloped.
- Dan Havlik lists Jordi Koalitic's Five Fun Mobile Photography Tricks to Try Today. The piece includes Kaolitic's unnarrated video demonstrating each trick but the text description is quicker:
- Portrait of Humanity is now accepting entries with the theme "celebrating unity in the face of division." Thirty winning images and three bodies of work will be part of a major international exhibition and featured in print.
- Datacolor has announced its SpyderX products and accessories are on sale with discounts up to 25 percent through April 10.
- This Wearable Book Bracelet is composed of 1,400 gilt-edged pages of Rembrandt's drawings of hands. That's what you call a portfolio!
More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
