Pixelmator Pro 2.4 Odesa Released With M1 Support

The Pixelmator team has released Pixelmator Pro 2.4 Odesa for macOS today. The new version features new layer types, new vector shapes and enhanced support for the M1 Ultra chip, among other improvements.
HIGHLIGHTS
Among the highlights of the new version are:
- Redesigned Layers Sidebar: The Layers sidebar has been redesigned with a new look and usability improvements.
- Color Adjustments and Effects Layers: Nondestructively change the look of layered compositions more quickly and easily.
- 200+ New Vector Shapes: Tap into over 200 new artist-designed vector shapes in categories like science, activities and symbols.
- M1 Ultra: Thanks to optimizations for M1 Ultra, machine learning-powered features are "blazingly fast on new Mac Studio devices," the company said. Tasks like automatic background removal, super-resolution, and photo enhancement are up to 1.7 times faster on M1 Ultra compared to M1 Max.
- Scrubby Zoom: Use the Scrubby Zoom mode to quickly and easily zoom images by simply dragging them.
- Layer Subtitles: See the most important information about a layer at a glance -- the size or font of text, effects and adjustments applied to layers and more.
OTHER IMPROVEMENTS
Other improvements include:
- You can now create masks by Command-dragging layers onto other layers.
- You can also copy and paste masks between different Pixelmator Pro documents.
- Use the new Shift-Command-T keyboard shortcut to insert text layers and Option-Shift-Command-T to insert circular text layers.
- Preserve Transparency, Replace Image and Choose Mask options are now available in the Layers sidebar shortcut menu.

Pixelmator Pro 2.4 Odesa is available from the Mac App Store as a free update for existing users and $39.99 for a new license.
