In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Jack Long, the Viewsonic ColorPro 27, Nikon sales and Katie Ladecky videos.

  • Grace Ebert presents images of Tiers of Dyed Water captured from above by Jack Long. He spent two years building a fountain to create the effect.
  • Mike Johnston adds the $999 The Viewsonic ColorPro 27 Monitor to his prior list of photography-level monitors. "It covers 100% of AdobeRGB with true 10-bit color depth," he writes. And includes a colorimeter and hood.
  • In Nikon Sales Continue to Do Well, Thom Hogan believes "Nikon isn't going to rush a new camera and push the supply chain when they are doing better than they expected." Just wait until next year, he thinks.
  • Kirk Tuck reveals he's been watching Katie Ladecky videos to improve his swimming stroke. "I just knew you wanted to read a bit about swimming," he writes. "So there you go."

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
