In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at the Virgin of Guadalupe, Amsterdam, cocktail photos, fashion income and generative AI.

  • For 10 years Oscar Rodriguez Zapata has been documenting images of Our Lady of Guadalupe painting in Los Angeles. "He packs his Nikon Z6 II and a Fujifilm X100V and photographs murals, landscapes, storefronts and people across the city's Historic South Central and Eastside to South Bay," writes Alejandra Molina. "But his biggest L.A. muse is the Virgin of Guadalupe."
  • Kate Mothes features the Humor and Happenstance of Julie Hrudová's Amsterdam street photography. Her images capture "daily life through candid snapshots of cyclists hauling unique cargo, pedestrians battling the elements, and canines commuting in style."
  • Jasenka Grujin shows off 19 Colorful Cocktail Photos. "Cocktail photography can be a fun and creative way to showcase the beauty and artistry of mixed drinks!" she writes. Exotic locales don't hurt either.
  • How much does a Fashion and Lifestyle Photographer based in Milan make? Rob Haggart tells all, pre- and post-Covid.
  • In Generative AI Is About Mass Personalization, Paul Melcher writes, "People want to be seen and understood as unique individuals with their own preferences, interests and values. And with the rise of generative AI, that expectation is becoming a reality." He argues for prioritizing fairness, diversity and inclusion so that it is also "genuinely empowering and transformative."

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
