What do the hands show? That's what we were wondering as we swiped through some images of Mom during her recent hospitalization.
We had snapped them with our phone to text to our faraway brothers to keep them in the loop and now we were looking at them in series to see what they had to say to us.
In the Emergency Room, they hosted the catheter that delivered her medications. Later in the Cardiac Care Unit, they held her plastic utensils so she could eat three hot meals a day.
They held her walker so she could recover her strength after a week in bed. And they formed a heart on Valentine's Day.
When she moved from the Cardiac Care Unit at the hospital to a skilled nursing facility, they started to evince strong opinions about going home sooner rather than later.
Can you see that in her 95-year-old hands? Can you see her strong heart and competence just be observing her hands?
