In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at a polar bear, Magdalena Szurek, camera scanning, Tre Cime National Park, more incomes and long exposure photography.
- Kevin Raber tells how he got his shot of a Polar Bear in Greenland. "A tip for photographers that I share with my workshop participants. In cases like this image, it is most important to determine the shutter speed you need to accomplish a shot that will not have any motion blur," he writes.
- Grace Holliday shares Magdalena Szurek's Best Phone Picture, a group of five women waiting for a coffee shop to open. She captured it with her iPhone 13 Pro and processed it with Snapseed.
- Kirk Tuck takes a stab at Camera Scanning his medium format color negatives with a Smith Victor boom arm holding a NanLite panel and an old Epson film holder at the staging end and his Sigma fp with a Sigma 70mm f2.8 Macro lens at the other. "I'm happy with the results," he writes.
- Marta Kulesza describes Exploring Tre Cime National Park Along the Croda Fiscalina Circuit Trail. The seven hour circuit just happens to be one of her favorite Dolomiti day hikes.
- In Photographers, How Much Do You Make? Rob Haggert adds a female fashion photographer and male editorial photographer to the list of those sharing income information (and a few tips).
- Viktor Elizarov at PhotoTraces provides a comprehensive guide to Long Exposure Photography, for both night and day. You'll also find his Travel Collection of free Lightroom presets there.
