In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at landscape projections, the Portrait of Humanity shortlist, a lightweight kit, creating presets, self portraits, an interesting workflow and more strange things said.
- Projections of a Frightening New World features the slide projections of Giulia Piermartiri and Edoardo Delille who "impose images of possible future scenarios on to existing landscapes."
- British Journal of Photography has revealed the shortlist of Portrait of Humanity Volume 5. "The 30 winning single images and 3 series will be exhibited at Belfast Exposed and Indian Photo Festival while the 200 shortlisted images are featured in a hardback book by Hoxton Mini Press, available now for purchase."
- Kirk Tuck takes A Lightweight Super Kit on a stroll through Austin. "The Leica CL called out to me as did the charming, sharp and happy little Sigma 18-55mm f2.8 lens for the L mount," he writes. He took 300 shots.
- Julieanne Kost covers creating Presets in the Develop Module in this 9:21 video:
- In Stepping Selfies Up a Gear, Dave Williams writes, "Having a human element elevates a landscape photo. It really does step it up a gear and just for the fun, it’s a selfie."
- Derrick Story describes A Workflow You May Find Interesting after spending a day chasing the weather in Sonoma County.
- In Strange Things Said XXIV, Thom Hogan adds three more half-baked statements to the oven of his mind.
More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
