In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Truth in Photography, B&W Day, a Lumix S5 set to L.Monochrome.D, Tony Fouhse and an ebook sale.
- Truth in Photography's Spring Edition features two curated themes: Focus, which highlights the work of Anya Tsaruk and Thomas Dworzak, and Face to Face, which features photo essays by Tacita Dean and Catherine Opie.
- In B&W Day! (More About the Monochrom[e]s), Mike Johnson shares a couple of thoughts about the Pentax K3 Mark III Monochrome.
- Meanwhile Kirk Tuck has Gone Mono with a Lumix S5 set to L.Monochrome.D. "I allowed the camera to add a little bit of "grain" to the mix. Lumix S5 + Voigtlander 58mm f1.4," he writes. His slide show includes a marque proclaiming, "I told my wife she should embrace her mistakes. She hugged me." Which is pretty black and white, too.
- In Crit: 77 Rue Du Prince Moulay Abdellah by Tony Fouhse, Andrew Molitor reviews Fouhse's latest project. "What amuses me, here," he writes, :is that while we are watching the play unfold before us, Fouhse has built a strong narrative that takes place entirely here rather than there."
- Rocky Nook takes 50 percent off all ebooks when you use the code EARTH50 through April 17.
More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
