In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Janelle Lynch, Generative Fill tips, the Fujifilm GFX 100s with a 50mm, EN-EL15 batteries, new Apple products and a Rocky Nook Pocket Guide discount.

  • In Endless Forms Most Beautiful, Joanna Cresswell presents the cyanotypes of Janelle Lynch on exhibit at Flowers Gallery London. She began by making cyanotypes of objects she found wandering around Amagansett, N.Y., on the Atlantic Ocean before including her own body as subject.
  • In The State of Reality, Dave Williams has a few tips for using Photoshop beta's Generative Fill. Like leave the text box empty to allow Firefly to "figure things out for itself." Proving once again, nobody listens. Not even Firefly.
  • Derrick Story is The Roving Medium Format Photographer, taking his Fujifilm GFX 100s and the compact GF 50mm f3.5 WR lens (a 40mm equivalent) to cover an auto show.
  • In Z 8 Batteries, Thom Hogan clarifies which EN-EL15 family batteries can power the new Nikon.
  • Ric Ford has a succinct report on the New Macs announced yesterday at Appleā€™s WWDC23 conference for developers. And Howard Oakley covers which Macs will be supported by macOS 14 Sonoma. You can also watch the two-hour Apple Keynote online.
  • Rocky Nook is offering 40 percent off its Pocket Guides, which include many photography titles, when you apply code POCKET40 at checkout.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
