In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Austin, a beautiful sunrise, Satechi Mac Mini hub, wedding photographers' stories and rules for social media.

  • Kirk Tuck takes his Leica SL2 sporting the Voigtlander 50mm f2.0 APO Lanthar lens to S. Congress Avenue in Austin. "Up one side of the street and down the other with a stop for coffee at Jo's in the middle," he writes, returning with a slide show.
  • Dominika Koszowska captured One of the Most Beautiful Sunrises I've Ever Seen with her smartphone. Grace Holliday tells the story of the Sony Xperia 5 IV shot from the Skeidhsskardh mountain in the Faroe Islands on a gray and gloomy morning.
  • Derrick Story enhanced his Mac mini M2 Pro with a Satechi Mac Mini Stand and Hub Review. Frankly it seems any new Mac needs a new hub of some kind (ours did too).
  • In These Wedding Photographers Have Stories You Won't Believe, Freoz Khan talks to a few survivors of the experience who were willing to talk. Amusing.
  • In Rules for Social Media: This Is Genius, Mike Johnston lists a few suggestions for avoiding being sucked into click bait and other wastes of your time on earth. The "This Is Genius" part of the title is, well, ironic. "And, of course, never trust anyone who says something is 'genius,'" he writes. "They're not even smart enough to use the word genius properly, so what could they possibly know that you would want to find out about?"

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
