In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at the Women's World Cup, the World Aquatics Championships, John Dyer, Generative Fill in one minute and LensCulure's Emerging Talent Awards.

  • Blake Sharp-Wiggins and Jo Khan present images from the Women's World Cup Opening Night, including the opening ceremony and both matches.
  • Alan Taylor presents 27 photos from The 2023 World Aquatics Championships where "nearly 2,400 athletes from 195 nations have gathered in Fukuoka, Japan, to compete in 75 events across six disciplines."
  • Suzanne Sease features the work of John Dyer. "My love for photography comes from seeing what something looks like when it's photographed," he says. "The camera sees differently than the human eye."
  • Dream Bigger With Generative Fill is a one-minute video in which Adobe shows how to use text prompts to modify images in Photoshop beta.
  • LensCulture is accepting submissions for its Emerging Talent Awards. "Our expert jury will select the work of 25 outstanding talents who have not yet received exposure at an international level. There are absolutely no limits on age, location or genre, so gather your best work together and share your work with us for the opportunity to kickstart your career on the world stage." Deadline is Aug. 23.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
