We've just archived Volume 12, Number 9 of Photo Corners on the Archive page with 16 Features, 15 commented News stories, 26 Editor's Notes (which included 158 items of interest), two reviews and two site notes for a total of 61 stories.

A year ago, we published seven more Feature and four more News stories. But two years ago, we published one less Feature and six more News stories. So there's no recent trend to report.

Among this month's production, 27 stories included 143 images. We celebrated one holiday and published five stories with gear specifications. There was also one obituary.

We saw a 196 percent increase in unique sites, bumping our total visits up 107 percent.

FOR THE SECOND MONTH in a row, we prohibited Google from indexing the site after it downloaded the entire site repeatedly in early August.

Readership numbers are much more credible consequently, although we saw a 186 percent increase in hits, which occurred during 10 days in the middle of the month and was probably Google checking to see if it was still banned.

Google. Amazon. They used to be invaluable. Now we try to manage without either of them. Power, alas, corrupts.

We saw a 196 percent increase in unique sites, bumping our total visits up 107 percent. Interestingly, without the Google indexing, we still served over half a million pages last month, on a par with August and higher than other recent months.

OUR TOP TEN STORIES were five Around The Horn roundups followed by the PhotoPills event news story, our carved bottle stopper slide show, the matinee featuring Colorado photographer Jason Weiss and two more Horns.

The second ten were probably more interesting, though. They were mostly features.

Not to be missed is our resolution to the DNP printer driver problem and our SD card fix.

Nor to be missed, dare we say, is what will happen in October. We'll let you know here as soon as we find out!
