In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Stuart Humphryes, Crew Café, incomes and Long Exposure Noise Reduction.

  • The Guardian presents a few images from The Colors of Life, a new book of early color photography enhanced by Stuart Humphryes. They are not just colorized. "There is a striking sense of clarity to these photos, an enhanced realism and the majority of them look as though they were shot only yesterday."
  • Kirk Tuck returns from a visit to Montreal with photographs of Crew Café taken with his Leica Q2.
  • Rob Haggart's review of industry incomes continues with a Media Company Junior Photo Editor. "I want to stay in this field, but unless I find a job that provides a livable wage, I will have to pivot which is depressing because I love working with photographers," she says.
  • Jim Kasson's 13th post on the Fujifilm GFX II EDR tests Long Exposure Noise Reduction. Nice explanation of the little understood feature as well.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
