In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at the Israel-Hamas War, Helsinki Photo Festival, dancing, DxOMark's iPhone 15 Pro/Max tests and 100 years of Italian heritage.
- The Associated Press covers the Israel-Hamas War's 9th Day with images of the grief and suffering on both sides.
- The sixth Helsinki Photo Festival runs through Oct. 30 with images illustrating the theme of "courage."
- Kirk Tuck just doesn't know when to quit. He switched to his Sigma fp to shoot Dancing at Jo's Coffee after his trip to Montreal with Leicas. He was thinking of selling the Sigma but "I enjoyed every minute of my walk with the Sigma fp and its 45mm lens. It's not going anywhere." Except dancing. (Oh, and never quit, Kirk.)
- DxOMark has published its test scores for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max cameras. There are also Selfie, Audio and Display test results available from the camera test page.
- Catherine Accardi will present 100 Years of Italian Heritage in San Francisco, a free virtual tour with over 100 vintage images, gazing at the art of Bufano, the architecture of Mastropasqua, Italian banks, restaurants, businesses and more.
More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look five years back. And please support our efforts...
