In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Emily Garthwaite, a 35mm f2.0 Biogon lens, Harold Davis, artists, traveling with camera gear and WPO prohibits generative AI.
- In Tears of the Tigris, Emily Garthwaite presents images from her show at the Leica Gallery in London. Garthwaite walked the Zagros mountain trail down the Tigris River.
- Kirk Tuck delivers a slide show from a walk with his Carl Zeiss ZM 35mm f2.0 Biogon Lens. "It's sharp as a weasel's teeth," he writes.
- Realms of Gold is a reflection of a radio tower in the moat of Hiroshima Castle, "a factoid that may be irrelevant to the image," Harold Davis notes.
- In Art and Artists Question, Mike Johnston asks, "Which artists would you think might be useful for photographers to know and study?"
- Jason Row reveals The Secrets to Travelling by Air With Heavy Camera Gear.
- Generative AI Ruled Out of the World Press Photo Contest, the WPO announces. "Both generative fill and fully generated images will be prohibited in the Open Format category (as was already the case in the other categories: Singles, Stories and Long-Term Projects)."
