In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Rosalynn Carter, Worldwide Photo Walk winners, Sandy Skoglund, the Mint Instantflex TL70 Plus, a case study, Foveon image processing and marketing methods.

  • The Guardian presents images from the Rosalynn Carter Memorial.
  • Scott Kelby has announced the winners of the 2023 Worldwide Photo Walk. He also tosses in a few honorable mentions that, he felt, deserved some recognition.
  • Kate Mothes showcases the Surreal Scenes in Sandy Skoglund's images that fuse "photography, installation and conceptual art." They are on exhibit as The Imaginary Worlds of Photography at Palazzo del Duca in Senigallia, Italy, through June 2.
  • Chris Gampat reviews the Mint Instantflex TL70 Plus. "I'm not writing this review in the particular way that we approach camera reviews with all the headings and such," he writes. "But instead, this is being written more as a letter of genuine appreciation for this product." He gave all the print away because they "made people happy."
  • Jason Row presents a case study of his Fujifilm GFX50s capture and Lightroom Classic edit of an image of The Tyne Bridge. "Getting a great image is often about luck," he writes. "However, as photographers, we can make our own luck by planning well, understanding our gear and using our technical capabilities to bring out the very best from the scene in front of us."
  • In More on Foveon Image Processing, Jim Kasson can't figure out how to avoid oversharpening.
  • Rob Haggart put together a list of Marketing Methods from the photographers in his salary survey.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
