In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Philip Am Guay, bounce flash, stuff breaking, entropy and photography mitts.
- Grace Holliday presents Filipino photographer Philip Am Guay's Best Phone Picture. He used a Huawei P10 to catch Manong Ebrin checking his fish traps for a catch.
- Neil van Niekerk presents one great shot taken with and two videos on Bounce Flash.
- Mike Johnston has been having some bad luck with stuff breaking lately (and other nonsense but in Be of Good Cheer he writes, "It was a great day. I got a lot done, made some headway, never lost my composure and handled everything that came my way." And he even strung up some Christmas lights.
- Apropos of that, you might say, Kirk Tuck reflects on The Crushing and Relentless Power of Entropy before taking a late walk in downtown Austin with his Leica M And Seeing New Things.
- A Reddit poster asks about Winter Photography Mitts. "I want to try the Vallerret Tinden Glove and a mitten on top to give me that extra warmth. I am now debating on which mitten."
More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
