The Hasselblad Foundation has named British photographer Ingrid Pollard as the 44th recipient of the Hasselblad Award, which honors individuals whose work significantly impacts the field and pushes artistic boundaries. Past winners have included Ansel Adams (1981), Cindy Sherman (1994), Hiroshi Sugimoto (2001), Dayanita Singh (2022) and 2023 laureate Carrie Mae Weems.

Hasselblad, in collaboration with the Hasselblad Foundation, will present Pollard with a Hasselblad flagship camera and lenses.

Born in 1953 in Georgetown, Guyana, and raised in London, Pollard currently resides in Northumberland, northeastern England.

She is renowned for her contributions to photography and art. Her work questions deeply engrained social and cultural constructs behind race, identity, community and gender and is included in numerous collections including the U.K. Arts Council and Victoria & Albert Museum.

This is the third consecutive year the Hasselblad Foundation Award includes the Hasselblad camera and lenses

Hasselblad, in collaboration with the Hasselblad Foundation, proudly announces the continuation of their partnership by awarding this year's Hasselblad Award recipient, Ingrid Pollard, with a Hasselblad flagship camera and lenses.

Internationally recognized as one of the most prestigious prizes in photography, the Hasselblad Award honors individuals whose work significantly impacts the field and pushes artistic boundaries. As the 44th recipient of the Hasselblad Award, Pollard joins an exclusive group of previous Hasselblad Award laureates, including Ansel Adams (1981), Cindy Sherman (1994), Hiroshi Sugimoto (2001), Dayanita Singh (2022) and 2023 laureate, Carrie Mae Weems.

Hasselblad will present Pollard with its flagship medium format camera and lenses at the Hasselblad Foundation Award ceremony on Friday, Oct. 11, in Gothenburg, Sweden. Previous winners Dayanita Singh and Carrie Mae Weems received the Hasselblad X2D 100C and 907x 50C.
