In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at the World Series, Dia De Los Muertos, the East Wing demolition and dSLR vs. mirrorless.
- The Guardian presents images of fans of one of the most dramatic World Series battles in the game from around the world. The Associated Press stayed on the field with the champion Dodgers.
- The Associated Press showcases 72 images of Dia De Los Muertos from around the world. Mariana Garcia shot the 44th annual Nighttime Procession in San Francisco's Mission District.
- Jacquelyn Martin describes her photo of The East Wing Demolition the overcame the problem that "none of the very few possible angles to shoot from showed well the White House in the background." Drones are not allowed in the Washington, D.C airspace. A White House reported gave her "brief access to the rooftop of a private building on the other side of the Treasury -- with a direct and elevated view of the demolition from its rooftop."
- A Reddit poster asks, Has Anyone Gone Back to dSLRs After Using Mirrorless? Some special circumstances merit an optical viewfinder, a few respondents note.
