In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Deborah Willis, Alastair Philip Wiper, Generative Upscale, Deanna Dikeman and PolarPro's Center-Split Filter.
- Michel Martin interviews Deborah Willis, the author of Reflections in Black, the first single-volume work to showcase images of leading Black photographers. NYU is hosting an exhibition of the images through Dec. 21.
- In Unintended Beauty, Marigold Warner looks at Alastair Philip Wiper's photographs of huge factories, research facilities and grand feats of engineering all over the world.
- Julieanne Kost dives into Generative Upscale in this 3:55 video:
- Suzanne Sease reprises Relative Moments, Deanna Dikeman's personal project for Thanksgiving next week. The series, which began in 1986, "chronicles ordinary moments of my extended family's activities."
- Alberto Lima reviews PolarPro's Center-Split Filter. "The beauty of this lens filter is that it will create a dual blur around an otherwise sharp subject," he writes.
More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
