In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at the week, Novak Djokovic, distant dust clouds, a Twin Peaks condo, tripod legs and public bathroom florists.

  • Jim Powell chronicles The Week Around the World in 20 photographs captured by the world's leading photojournalists.
  • Yorgos Karahalis captures Novak Djokovic stretching on the court after winning a point at the ATP 250 tennis tournament final. "Djokovic ended up in this body position because he stretched so much in order to put his racket under the ball," he writes. "And when he realized that he made it, Djokovic reacted by putting his arms behind his neck, pretending it was a comfortable contortion."
  • Kate Moss features The Dust Clouds of Apep captured by the Webb Telescope:

  • Maren Caruso photographed An '80s-Tastic Twin Peaks Condo formerly owned by a Pan Am flight attendant who had built the cluster of 20 condos in 1981.
  • Mike Johnston continues his discussion of tripods in Addendum to the Tripod Posts: Length Limit, which covers airline restrictions. Readers chime in with their own experiences.
  • Junyao Yang photographed The Florists of the Ocean Beach Bathroom. "On a recent Tuesday inside the 1930s women's restroom, lined with cream yellow and green tiles, Jennifer Ázima and Joy Perdue were busy making small bouquets in plastic party cups," she writes. "When they left, the restroom had fresh flowers on the sink, the hand-soap dispenser and the diaper-changing station."

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
