In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Fashion Week, ON1 Keyword AI, faked vacation photos and improved iOS camera apps.

  • Jonathan Daniel Pryce captured what the models, stylists and tailors wore to Fashion Week in Florence. He's been doing this for 15 years.
  • Derrick Story takes a look at ON1 Keyword AI in his latest podcast. We don't keyword, we slug shoots. And keep a text journal we can search for details. Maybe we should write approach that up. Because keywording is painful and AI is not going to get it vaguely.
  • Dave Williams is taking A Social vAIcation with "13 pictures of what I got up to on a make-believe adventure in Finland." He used Generative Fill and other AI Tools in Photoshop to place himself where he hadn't been. "I wanted to leave some clues because, ultimately, I wanted to see whether any of my followers would notice and calm me out on it," he writes. "Unfortunately, out of the thousands of people who saw the photos, only one person commented to say the image looks fake."
  • Jason Snell highlights More Responsive iOS Camera Apps revealed at Apple's WWDC 2023 for phones with A12 Bionic chip or newer.

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
