In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at the week in pictures, Roman Fox, the Jackery Explorer 300 Plus, an M3 MacBook Pro, golden hour photography and 21 famous photographers.

  • The Associated Press showcases its Week in Pictures: Global curated by AP photo editor Pamela Hassell in New York. Among the 22 are a volcano in Iceland, Rohingya Muslim refugees at sea, Ramadan in Rafah, an aircraft airdrop, Putin at his campaign headquarters and Yulia Navalnaya at a polling station near the Russian Embassy in Berlin, after noon Sunday.
  • In his 12:12 video Creativity Is Ruining Your Photography, Roman Fox suggests documenting what you see on your photo walk instead of trying to catch a masterpiece:

  • Derrick Story reviews the $299 Jackery Explorer 300 Plus, a generator to recharge your electronic devices on the road that itself can be recharged with the included solar panel.
  • Kirk Tuck bought an M3 MacBook Pro to replace his 2018 13-inch MacBook Pro. "I checked the pertinent reviews and one source indicated that my older i5 Intel processor in the 2018 laptop runs my favorite photo applications about 15x slower than a new M3 processor machine," he writes. "I ordered the machine from one of my photo retailers. They had a better price than I would have gotten ordering direct from Apple."
  • In A Quick Guide to Golden Hour Photography, Lisa Michelle Burns details how to capture the soft light, warm hues, long shadow and enhanced sky colors around sunrise and sunset.
  • Viktor Elizarov lists 21 World Famous Photographers and Their Photos. "If you're a photography enthusiast, compiling a list of famous photographers in history you should know and admire is a challenging task in itself, let alone narrowing it down to a fixed number," he writes. "Based on specific criteria and objectivity, we've compiled a list of 21 famous photographers known for their passion, dedication and unique style."

More to come! Meanwhile, here's a look back. And please support our efforts...
