There is always something a little sad about a happy new year. Much as we look forward to what the future may bring, we can't help but regret we have to leave the past behind.
One coping mechanism for that is listening to old music. And every year we try to find an old recording of Auld Lang Syne. This year we returned to the UCSB Cylinder Audio Archive to dig up a cylinder recording from around 1919 by the Old Home Singers.
And we engaged Judy's Band once again, this time with some macros shots, to accompany the music.
If you have to be sad, you might as well be surrounded by a group of singers and their orchestra.
We can look on the bright side in the morning, when the sun comes up.
